Sleeping position
Typically dogs that sleep on their sides are demonstrating that they love and trust you.
Dogs in the wild don't stay in this position for long, as they are the most vulnerable when sleeping this way.

It's vital to notice signs for concern in the way your pet sleeps. A dog that sleeps on its belly with its paws underneath its body or stretched out to the sides is not fully relaxed and cannot get a good quality sleep. In this position, they don't reach the REM sleep stage.
Shy dogs usually sleep this way, and it's important to try and get them to feel more comfortable around you.
